Reporting Line Manager: Managing Director
This role acts as the central link between STLS and its venue partners. The Head of Venues is the key person that venues come to for booking hire, production, installation, or service work. They sit in the middle between venues and STLS, ensuring clear communication, strong relationships, and commercially successful outcomes.
The role is responsible for managing and growing relationships with existing venues, onboarding new venues, and ensuring venue enquiries are correctly scoped, commercially viable, and passed to the appropriate internal teams. The Head of Venues plays a critical role in driving venue based revenue, improving client experience, and scaling the STLS venue portfolio.
This role is both strategic and operational, with a strong commercial focus and a balance of office based coordination and on site venue engagement.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
Venue Leadership & Relationship Management

Act as the primary point of contact for all regular and contracted venues.

Sit between venues and STLS teams, ensuring all enquiries are clearly understood and directed to the correct department.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with venue managers, technical managers, and operational contacts.

Attend venue meetings, site visits, walk rounds, and planning sessions.

Act as the first escalation point for venues where issues arise, resolving matters calmly and professionally.

Ensure venues have a clear understanding of STLS services including hire, production, installation, and service.

Maintain oversight of venue activity and ensure a consistent STLS experience across all departments.
New Venue Acquisition

Identify and pursue new venue opportunities aligned with STLS strategy.

Lead initial engagement, site visits, and relationship building with prospective venues.

Convert new venues into active STLS clients with a focus on long term relationships.

Work with the Managing Director on strategic venue opportunities and negotiations.

Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and venue meetings.
Commercial & Sales Responsibility

Handle venue enquiries and manage them through to proposal and quotation stage.

Prepare and issue proposals and quotations for venue related work.

Agree venue rates within agreed margin bands.

Take responsibility for protecting margin across all venue work.

Identify opportunities to upsell and cross sell hire, production, service contracts, and installation projects.

Convert ad hoc venue work into repeat business and contracted service agreements.

Manage preferred supplier agreements and long term venue contracts.

Lead contract renewals and renegotiations.

Maintain accurate records of client contact, quotations, and pipeline within company systems.
Internal Coordination & Oversight

Work closely with Hire, Production, Installation, and Service teams to allocate and deliver venue work effectively.

Chair and lead regular internal venue review and pipeline meetings.

Ensure clear handover of scoped work to delivery teams.

Provide oversight of venue projects to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.

Attend site where required to support delivery teams and client relationships.

Commit STLS resources where necessary to protect key venue relationships, within agreed authority.
Service Contracts & Performance

Promote STLS service contracts to venue partners.

Oversee service contract relationships including SLAs and KPIs.

Highlight service and maintenance opportunities to venues.

Feed operational and service insights back into the business to support growth and improvement.
General Leadership & Professional Responsibilities

Provide feedback to Directors on any areas of improvement, development, or growth identified.

Operations & Warehouse

Assist with the servicing, preparation, cleaning, and packaging of the company’s rental equipment within the warehouse when required.

Deal with customers and drivers visiting the company’s premises to collect or return equipment.

Assist with the maintenance and repair of the company’s rental stock.

Check out customer orders to ensure all items are included, operational, and cleanly presented.

Check in equipment returned from hire against paperwork, logging and reporting any shortages or damages.

Keep work areas clean, tidy, and efficiently organised.

Provide assistance to company drivers on deliveries and collections where additional support is required.

Load and unload equipment from vehicles. This role involves manual handling of bulky and heavy technical equipment.

As directed, provide support to other teams within the company to assist in wider business activities.
