Service Technician
The Role
We are looking for a Service Technician to join our growing service department.
This is a hands-on technical role working across servicing, fault finding, repairs, commissioning and technical support for professional entertainment and AV systems.
The role is split between workshop-based repairs and on-site support, so you’ll need to be comfortable both on the bench and out on site solving problems in real-world environments.
You’ll work across lighting, audio, video and control systems, supporting installs, venues and live event environments.
This role would suit someone with a good technical background who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in their work and wants to continue developing their skills within a fast-growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, fault finding and repairs on professional lighting, audio and AV equipment
- Assist with on-site technical support, commissioning and reactive call-outs
- Diagnose and resolve faults across a range of systems and manufacturers
- Complete service reports and documentation clearly and accurately
- Prepare and test equipment before installations and service visits
- Support installation teams with commissioning and final testing when required
- Maintain workshop organisation and high standards of housekeeping
- Work closely with the Install, Production and Hire departments
- Help maintain the high technical standards STLS is known for
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within entertainment technology, AV, lighting or technical service
- Good practical fault finding skills
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team
- Organised and proactive approach to work
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience with ETC systems
- Networking knowledge
- PAT testing experience
- Experience working within theatres, venues or live events
- Knowledge of Q-SYS, DSP or control systems
- IPAF, PASMA or ECS qualifications

Other Info
- Based from our warehouse in Chessington, with regular travel to sites
- Mixture of workshop and on-site work
- Some evening and weekend work may be required depending on projects
