There’s nothing like an awards ceremony on the agenda to get the creative juices flowing for the STLS Team.

Especially those award ceremonies that are just a little bit different. After all, being inventive and creative is one of the key areas we are good at…. So, when the Irish Post Awards asked us to provide a proposal for an awards event in the great room at Grosvenor House we just knew we had to get involved.

What did we do to make the awards “Extra Special”?

STLS proudly helped The Irish Post host 2000 guests for the magnificent return of this year’s Irish Post Awards. Our goal was to take the colours of this year’s invite to inspire our event design, from the room lighting design through to video design backdrop. Each table was also brilliantly illuminated using wireless Fixtures, all stage lighting controlled via chamsys and one large video wall with video totems making the audience feel immersed in the on-screen content.

We had time constraints and we knew whatever we installed had to be set up quickly and efficiently. Therefore, the most important consideration was to make sure everyone could hear and see properly. This was especially important due to the room size and design.

An incredible effort by everyone involved and truly wonderful occasion to be part of!

The gear; ensuring the highest sound & lighting quality

Lighting: Lighting effects transformed the venue from a multipurpose space by day to an exciting glamorous gala awards dinner by night. We took extra special care to highlight and accentuate the architecture of the stunning venue.

Moving lighting effects were used to announce winners and lighting patterns were used to light the diner’s tables. During the dinner the guests were entertained by singing waiters, which were spot lit during their performance.

Sound: Sound design is so important in this room, with its large ceilings, chandeliers and balcony. The STLS decided D&B line array hung around the venue was the perfect fit. Along with providing the riders for many high profile performances.

Set and Stage: We produced and set up a large video wall design this was used for the event theme, forming a backdrop for the awards.
