What amp do I need for the Martin Audio X15?
Pair with Martin Audio iKON or MA series amplifiers with the X15 preset loaded. Compatible third-party amps work too, but presets matter for tuning and limiter protection.
Can the X15 be used as a monitor?
Yes. The 75° x 50° horn is rotatable, so the X15 works as a stage monitor wedge on its side or upright as an FOH top.
How loud will it go?
132 dB peak SPL. Comfortable for live music and DJs in venues up to around 400-500 capacity as a standalone pair.
Does it have a pole mount?
Yes. M20 pole socket fitted. Pair with our M20 sub poles to mount X15s on top of a sub for instant stage left/right tops.
How many do I need?
A pair covers most rooms up to 300-400 cap as standalone tops. For bigger venues or DJ use, add a pair of subs (X18 or similar) for low end.
How does the X15 compare to a d&b E12?
Both 2-way passive point source designs. The X15 has bigger LF (15 inch vs 12 inch), more low-end punch and higher max SPL. The d&b E12 is tighter and more refined, often preferred for theatre and broadcast.
