10 Union Street Events Space, London Bridge

STLS was commissioned to deliver a complete lighting and control upgrade for 10 Union Street, a premium events venue in London Bridge operated by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The venue hosts a wide variety of events including conferences, drinks receptions, gala dinners, meetings, and weddings, all within a distinctive setting of 13 unique spaces spread across three floors and connected by a striking spiral staircase.

The project focused on modernising the existing lighting infrastructure, improving flexibility across multiple room layouts, and delivering a reliable, energy efficient system that could be confidently operated by the venue team for a wide range of event types.

The brief;

The existing lighting system had become outdated, with poor lighting design, limited control options, and an unreliable setup that restricted how the spaces could be used. The client required a modern, flexible lighting solution that would allow each room to be transformed depending on event style, while also improving energy efficiency and simplifying day to day operation. Key objectives included: Modernising lighting fixtures and control, Improving lighting positions and coverage. Creating a more diverse lighting palette for different event types, Introducing a more capable and intuitive lighting desk, Ensuring flexibility across all spaces and layouts

STLS delivered a full turnkey solution, including: Lighting design and system specification. Supply and installation of new creative and stage lighting Infrastructure upgrades to support the new system, Integration of selected existing equipment, Programming, commissioning, and on site training for the venue team All works were carefully planned to minimise disruption, as the building remained live throughout the project with very limited downtime available.

Final Touches

A flexible and visually discreet lighting system was installed, using a carefully selected range of professional fixtures and control. The new lighting control system provided intuitive operation and powerful programming capabilities.

$The ERA 150s, ERA 400s, and LEDJ fixtures were custom sprayed white, allowing them to blend seamlessly into the space while still delivering high impact lighting when required. These fixtures were chosen to maintain the clean architectural aesthetic of the venue.$
